Someone asked me how to create a simple glow effect in Photoshop to make his image a tad brighter. While some others may suggest using the diffuse glow filter, I myself wants to use this technique rather because I find more options using this method and I also admit that I can't find the diffuse glow in Photoshop CS6. It's fairly simple and easy to do. Just follow the video tutorial below.
In this tutorial we're gonna extract two images and place it together so that it looks like one. I'll give the download links to the two images we're gonna be using for this tutorial below.

One of the issues in creating a realistic photomanipulation is creating artificial shadows. You determine the light source and must have a good knowledge in shading and shadows. Here we're gonna ditch the method of drawing shadows completely but still create a very realistic shadow effect. How? We're gonna use the natural shadow cast by the subject image and place it behind it.

Also in this tutorial we're gonna create a very simple, easy to do, minimalist text effect. Play the Filipino tutorial below to know more (no English, sorry) and if you have questions or suggestions, pitch your comments below.

-Sorry for being so late in posting a new tutorial, masyado ako busy sa trabaho ko noong mga nakaraang araw pero ngayon nagbabalik na ako!

Enjoy mga kababayan!
This photomanipulation involves extracting the subject and placing them in the background using a layer mask, adding some light effects, and some filters. This is a pretty easy manipulation so don't be intimidated by the results. I will be giving tips for improvement so follow carefully. This tutorial (as with every tutorial) is in the Filipino language so that my fellow countrymen can understand clearly.

The pen tool is a very powerful selection tool in Photoshop. It requires patience in using but the results can be great. You can control the paths with great accuracy and you can make adjustments even after making a path.

With this tool we can extract any image we want to extract. With just a ton of patience we can create a very accurate extraction of an image.
In this beginner tutorial we'll be talking about how to use the quick selection tool and the magic wand tool in the extraction process. The extraction process is the process where we separate a part of an image from the whole.

The quick selection tool and magic wand tool is located in the toolbox. If you don't see both, just hold down the icon above the crop button and it will popup.

We'll be separating this teapot from the background later so click the link to the image below and save it to your hard drives. This video tutorial will be in the Filipino language so if you can't speak in Filipino I don't recommend you watching this. To add, I will be using Photoshop CS6 in every tutorial I'll be making. Some CS3 stuff will not be covered. Watch the tutorial after the break.
EDIT (January 1, 2014):

The site is now having better looks. Filipino themed right? By the way, Happy new year to all and I wish everyone good health and a peaceful 2014! This is my first post of 2014! Be patient because we'll be getting there soon! Special thanks to my students who have been my inspiration for putting up this website. I recently bought a Razer Tiamat gaming headset (with a great mic) so I can provide you with good audio in the upcoming videos. I haven't tested working on a video now because I am quite busy designing the website but we'll get there soon and I'll post some test sample videos. Your comments are welcome for the improvement of this site. Again happy new year everyone!

My time is kinda short and my laptop has gave up on me so I need to work on a shared PC at home to do this. Early this year maybe I'll be buying a Microsoft Surface 2 to provide for my blogging needs. Anyway here's a picture of my desktop on the left. Enjoy the cold breeze of the new year folks!
Anyway, I've just got this post up so I can test the website when it comes to handling multiple posts on the homepage. Just don't bother reading this post again for my comfort haha. I'll try to make everything up and running by February or late January. I'll be busy preparing for the school's foundation week (I'll be the organizer for the battle of the bands, and yes, I am a musician in case you're asking). For now, I'll try my best to finish anything I can do. God bless ya'll!
I guess everything's kinda settled for now. I'll try to make my first tutorial (maybe).
